ABOUT ME

Hey there!

I'm Anna Mercier, a writer, teacher, and podcaster. I write YA and adult SFF, and I was a Pitch Wars mentee in 2017. Nowadays, I typically write about strange magic systems, plus-sized protagonist kicking butt in their own way, and dreamlike settings. When I'm not writing, I'm podcasting or editing podcast episodes for the BASIC PITCHES podcast I co-host with Wednesday author Emily Thiede.

My husband and I have claimed a little piece of western North Carolina as home, and we share it with our two cats and a dog named Duck named after a character in THE ADVENTURE ZONE podcast. Yeah, we're just that nerdy. If I'm not doing something writing related, I bake, participate in community theatre, and hike.
